I kept mine at the bottom of my tank and it did very well. I have high light so I guess with where I had it placed it got medium light.

Be careful with placement, they have some suprisingly long sweepers.

would mine to well it i place it at the bottom with the lighting i have my tank is not that deep.

You can give it a try and see how it does. If the tentacles don't extend during the lighting period you may need to move it up in the tank.

I had one for years, highest spot on my rock work with 440 watts of VHO over the tank. Probably about 7 inches between the top of the coral and the light. It did not grow alot, but LOVED the light. The sweepers can extend well beyond 12 inches.
