I Am New Too - But Soooo Far
Hi
Last month I bought my first pair of German Blue Rams and I Love Them!
In my area - they are hard to find and there was little to no info on them.
This website is Amazing - Thanks All
I lucked out
My set is male and female. They are doing all the mating
rituals as described - including the cleaning of smooth spot, the fluttering
together, and the highly protective guarding of their space - in which they
do in shifts lol
The first mating ritual produced eggs I think - but I guess they got infected
and they cleaned off the smooth spot. Then they stopped the ritual and went
back to being crabby cichlids.
I decided to add 3 more females .... oooooops. Now - the female decided
to flirt with the male by showing all the colors - and it worked, because
he became He-Man Stud and did the same.
Problem is - now they take shifts in chasing away the other new females.
Sooooo .... I made a few cocunut caves, added some plastic tall pants to
at least hide the newbs from the mating pair, and it seams to work a little.
At least the new females have a place to rest now and then, but they are
also showing interest in my male - by tempting him .... he almost seams to
fall for it at times - The Pig
My question is - Are Rams Caves dwellers? - my Rams dont seam to care for
them at all - maybe because they are still new to the tank.
And .... Will they all get along? - I am hoping the original pair adapt.
Thanks Everyone
