I'm new to this fish stuff. I keep thinking of things that I want to know about. When I clean the tank should I wipe the glass down with a sponge? I don't think I should because I'm losing bacteria right?

Thanks

Bruce

On the inside of the tank? I never touch the inside of the glass since it never looks dirty. If there is algae, then I would scrape it/wipe it off.
There is bacteria all over the place in the tank. Wiping off the glass and losing that bacteria would be nothing compared to doing an entire substrate change. IMHO, I would leave the glass alone.

as above - use an algae magnet ( get at any lfs) or a scraper to get any algae off the inside of the glass
