Goldfish and Snails

Hey everyone! I'm new here and I'm looking for a bit of advice. My son has three goldfish and has been wanting Snails. I know you can't put a lot of things with goldfish but I've heard that you can have Snails. Just wondering what the best type would be to put in with our three fish.

Hi! One quick question, how big is your tank? Goldfish get bigger than most people think and a common goldfish can max out at over a foot! They create a lot of pollution and in an improperly sized tank, can create a toxic environment for tank mates.

They are in a twenty gallon tank right now. Had all three fish almost 2.5 years the largest is about two inches.
