Good plant for a mossy carpet?

What is a good plant to create a mossy carpet on gravel? I have been looking at willow moss and java moss but I'm really not sure.

willow moss droops so its better as a curtain on something rather than a carpet. i guess java moss is better but a really nice moss would be flame moss. it grows upward like grass so it'll give you a "carpety" effect

I used plain java for my moss carpet. Be warned though. The things gather dirt really easily and it's job to keep them clean and algae free.
