That will depend on what size you tank it's going &the type of plants you would like to grow....

the 30" fixture do not many many bulbs as the common sizes are 24/36/48.

You can keep low light plans though... Many many.

Any light will grow plants, but the question is what plants you want to grow.

If you are looking at medium light / high light plants then this is not gonna work for you. However, if you're looking for low light plants then that will work fine.
