Just added some green colored seaweed that the LFS had yesterday (my sailfin tang loves is) and this morning my fish have wonderful white spots...

so i have pulled my fish into QT to begin treatment as early as possible to raise my chances of a speedy recovery...(6 wks with empty main - i got that part)

should i remove the seaweed or will the ick die off? It had small starfish looking creatures on it along with some "brine worms" i think he said - are these going to give the ick enuf life to live?

sorry for my ignorance, and TIA

As long as there are no hosts (fish) in the main tank, the ick will eventually die off. Keep the main tank fallow for around 6 weeks.
You can leave the seaweed in there.

How are you going to treat the fish in QT?

Leave the seaweed and everything else in the main tank. With no fish in there for 6 weeks the parasite will die out.
