It certainly will! It depends on the size of your tank with adding fish. You don't want to 'overload' your filter. So one big fish at a time, 2-3 medium fish at a time or 4-6 small fish at a time. Say if you where adding corys for example, 3 one week then 3 one to two weeks later. It gives your bacteria time to multiply to keep up with the load.
