Hi,

I’m new to this forum and fairly new to fish keeping as an adult (I did have a tank for 5 years or so when I was a kid).

I have a 70L freshwater tank (Juwel Rekord 70 with same brand filter & heater), with 4 live plants, started in Feb/March and did a fishless cycle before getting my first fish (8 guppies) in mid April.
Last week I bought 3 dwarf gouramis (male)

They have been doing well up until yesterday, when I noticed one has lots of little black dots on its scales and generally looks ‘dirty’. He’s still eating well, still behaving like the others (shy but inquisitive) and the others look well.

I tested the parameters last night - ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate about 30ppm. Temperature stable at 25-26c. I did about a 40% water change last night which has brought the nitrates down to below 10ppm. The pH is around 7.0 but the KH and GH did drop after the water change so I added half a tsp of Seachem Alkaline Buffer

I’ve done a gravel vac and full clean out in the past week. Just wondering if there’s anything else I could try, possibly any medications I can add to the water?

Does this look infectious (i.e. fluke or some other form of parasite?) or is there perhaps still something wrong with my water parameter?

I know gouramis are sensitive souls & I don’t want him to be suffering!

Many thanks
