Green cloudy water?

What can I do. Water levels are as the should be, lights not always on? Suggestions?

Green water is a light issue. Is the tank getting direct sunlight at any time? What KIND of light do you have on it (not just watts)?

A normal day light and a light that brings our the fishs colour, doesn't really light anything up, and for the sunlight, not directly. The tanks quite dark during the day. Should I leave the lights off for longer?

What kind of bulbs are they though? Are they 10w CFLs, T8s, etc?
If the lights are not on for more than 8 hours a day, it's probably not a light duration issue. How old is the tank?

I think they're on Longer :s I'll cut down the length of time that they are on. And I'm not sure what lights. I'll have to look in the morning.
