+1. He's right about the frozen water. All it does is add nutrients to the water that your fish cant eat. This is what I do when I feed my fish as well.
 
I used to defrost and dump it into a net to get rid of all the water, then place into the tank. Someone told me that was bad because that gets rid of all the nutrients in the food.
 
Just for an update, the 2 big turbo snails i got took care of all the hair algae.
