Let it defrost then rinse it in RODI. The frozen water is full of phosphates. Stick it a fine mesh net and rinse it with the RODI.

+1. He's right about the frozen water. All it does is add nutrients to the water that your fish cant eat. This is what I do when I feed my fish as well.

I used to defrost and dump it into a net to get rid of all the water, then place into the tank. Someone told me that was bad because that gets rid of all the nutrients in the food.
