green terror NO TAIL!!

well my green terror lost a little bit of its tail in a fight with the jewel and i was out of town for five days while someone was feeding my fish and i noticed that now his whole tail is gone and he has a weird red spot on the side of his face

can anyone I.D maybe fin rot??? how to fix or should i take him out???

I would just do lots of water changes, but it may not grow back at the point it is now. You might toss in some pimafix/melafix to help... Once it rots to a certain point, it won't grow back. I can't quite tell from the pictures if it has reached that point or not.
