Green water caused by plants??

That's good. I"d hate to see shrimp sacrificed too. But if you get green water later on, fan shrimp love the stuff and are very efficient at sifting it out of the water.

Daphnia or moina can clear a severe case in a day or two, though it depends how many of them there are, naturally. And they make excellent fish food afterward, if you don't choose to culture them, and won't die off right away and foul the tank. All in all, a very useful way to handle green water if it crops up.
