HUKIT said:Gold saums or Silver Saums which are the true green terrors share that trait with both male and female and can't used to ID fish.

Hukit - regarding your comment about the gold saum. The guide to cichlids book I've been reading says the gold saum (aequidens sp) is not the real green terror and is a closely related species that remains undescribed as of 2007 atleast. It says the real green terror is aequidens rivulatus.
Is there a dispute over which species is supposed to go by the GT trade name?
Thanks for the background. I did some reading and saw a picture of the original green terror. It seems like the nicest of all the species being called GTs. It's a shame it's so rare. I guess my book dropped the ball on this topic. Surprising considering how incredibly detailed it is with all the cichlid genus and species.
ozmo said:Yeah I got my FH when he was a colorless little fry now he is a big fat chunker (see pics below). He is the most interactive fish I've ever had. He actually swims up to my hand for a massage and food of course. When I vac the gravel he is always right beside my hand just like a dog.
My GT isn't fussy at all. He used to even steal food from the Pleco when he could.
Here's my FH...
