Hi,

Parameters: amonia=0, nitrite=0, nitrate possibly 5.

I lost a guppy last night. He was doing very well all day, very active (I've had my our guppies for at least 2 weeks). I left the house for 2 hours and when I came back he was lying at the bottom of the tank, barely ever swimming, which I had never seen them do. When he swan, he would go to the top,get bend sideways, and let himself fall to the bottom.

I checked my parameters to see if he was being poisened. I looked at him closely and he didn't have any cuts, his gills were not red, he wasn't breathing weird, there were no signs of rot. I couldn't find what was wrong. Anyways, he died overnight. That's so quick...

Any idea what happenned?

Thanks

Well,

Depending on where you bought the fish...you may have just got a bad fish :-(

I'm assuming he was a fancy guppy? Fancy guppies are known for not living that long...They are commonly dosed with growth hormones at the farms that they come from.

It seems that your tank is fully cycled and everything.

Do you know the PH of your water? Could you have had a PH swing?

I'm sorry for your loss!
