Daphnia are People Too.
I have 3 guppy fry from a batch about 3 months ago. I just leave the moms in the community and remove any fry I find so I never get very many, but I'm ok with that. Anyway, all 3 were yellow cobra females. I had put them back into the community. I never saw a male characteristic on any of them. I have been breeding guppies for a couple years and never had an issue telling the genders apart fairly soon. My one male chased all the little females and their mom equally. One night, I went to bed, and in the morning, one of my little girls was a boy! It was the weirdest thing! He suddenly had a longer tail, a male sex organ, and a brightly colored body. I know it can take awhile for them to show their gender, but that was a very sudden switch!
