My poor old Cory was really struggling last night. I had been watching her carefully and seen her decline. She was old, probably 4 years? She would try to swim, but then just sink and lay on her side. I couldn't stand to watch her suffer, so I used the iced water method to euthanize her last night. Now I just have one lonely little Cory in my tank. I feel bad, I know that they should be in a school. Does anyone else just have one?

Cory's are often kept in singles or pairs due to the amount of small tanks on the market anymore. Yours should be fine. They are much happier and active in groups of at least 5-6 but will be just fine solo. If it starts acting strange then you might want to add a couple. I know that in a lot of cases when there is only one or two they are more skittish and hide more. Sorry about losing your long timer and good luck.
