Hey guys!!! So I just brought home my new to me 45 gallon corner hex tank. I was given some coral along with it, just wondering if it's safe for me to put in my tank... The previous owner had gold fish in the tank that were from their pond. I plan on putting cichlids in the tank now. I was worried about disease and other icky things. Can I boil the coral and will that make it safe or should I just toss it?? ImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1390769360.825341.jpgImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1390769398.760465.jpg

It's not going from salt to fresh or fresh to salt tho, it's gong from a fresh tank to a fresh one... Just scrubbing it with a tooth brush will still be ok??

Yea you should be fine...what I was meaning was to soak it in "water" for a while to loosen things up and use the toothbrush to clean it
