Have a question on Carbon

Hello all, new to the group. I have 5 freshwater tanks and starting a saltwater. I use alot of carbon in my filters for my tanks and I am trying to find a place where I can buy in bulk. I don't use the pre-packedge packs I like to use my own. I want to buy it in 5 lb bags or such. Any ideas. Thanks for the help.

Why do you use carbon? It isn't necessarey on a regular basis.

I always have. The canister filters that I use have a carbon compartment in them. I change out the carbon every two weeks or so. As part of the chemical filteration it has always kept all my tanks clear.

Another extremely inexpensive alternative to carbon, that keeps the tank also very clear is filter floss. It can also be purchased as polyester pillow batting from places like walmart. You can stick in the carbon compartment of your tanks.
