Hello from North Carolina!
I'm excited to be the proud owner of my first 55 gallon freshwater tank! I had a 29 gallon years ago but I must admit I was young and did not do the proper research which showed. This time I have read practically every beginner guide that AA has to offer and I am really thankful for the effort you guys put into the site.
I am currently in the second half of a fishless cycle and am looking forward to what lies ahead. This time around I am trying my hand at live plants (which is going well so far), sand substrate and a canister filter instead of a HOB. I am very pleased with how things are going so far and hope to build up the confidence and the knowledge for some exotic fish down the road!
