Hello all,

I recently bought a group of young Venezuelan corydoras at auction and after bringing them home, discovered a surprise. A single tiny fry had somehow survived being bagged up by the previous owner, sitting for hours in the bag with 4 larger fish, being netted by me, and then being added to my planted cory tank.

The thing is... I'm certain it's not a cory. It doesn't look or behave like one, and I have NO IDEA what it could possibly be. I have no way to get in touch with the seller.

It's been eating some Hikari First Bites that I had on hand and seems to enjoy hanging around the Indian almond leaves I have in the tank. It also likes to swim around near the surface by my thermometer.

I don't suppose anyone could help identify it? It's hard to get photos of because it's tiny and fast, but here's what I've managed to get:

Yes, definitely too small for me either to identify. Please keep it alive and us posted as it becomes larger and hopefully shows it's "true colors" (y)

Hey everyone! Thought I'd update you all on the mystery fry. It turns out I have two of them! I suspected I did from the beginning but only last week did I see both at once. They're both much more active these days and are getting progressively more outgoing.

They definitely have red eyes. Here's what they look like in front of and behind the light in the tank.

It definitely looks like some kind of barb or rasbora, I don't see any sign of an adipose fin so I don't think it's a tetra.
