Help my paradise fish

Ummm... that probably means its a 20g tall. The tall and long are tank standards.
Anyway, IME, zebra danios do best in a 20g long, so if you don't have that, you may want to rethink the zebra danios.
Sorry for coming in and all 3 of telling you your stock isn't good. Blackmolly is right though, just because somebody works at a petstore does not necessarily mean they know about fish. Some of them do, some don't.
In a 20g, you can keep the flag fish and 1 paradise fish. 2 paradise fish might be ok, but keep a close eye on it.
Do you have an lfs that would take trade-ins? You could maybe trade the fish for some fish that would really thrive in your tank like harlequin rasboras. :)
 
Don't change the carbon filter! Thats where all the bb live. That would be aweful for a tank with as much bioload as this one has!

It depends. Tanks sizes are all over the place here. When the tank is made in a country that have L not G then the size can differ from the norm.
