Hey,
I have been away two days and come back to this pink ball like stuff within a few of my plants. My guppies have started to eat and destroy it. I have had a little Google but am getting mixed messages :/

It's a 80l tropical talk with
3x Amano shrimp
7x Cherry shrimp
2x Assassin snail
1x red dwarf gourami
8 x guppies mixed gender
3x danios

Any help much appreciated
Gavin

Looks like mouldy food.

Id check with whoever was feeding, check your water parameters, do a water change and syphon it out.

Sooo, Parameters checked got rid of it all my suspension was food and when I was siphoning I agreed with myself.

..... So while I was away BOTH people home where feeding my fish -_-. Neither one communicated with the other.

Hopefully no long term damage has been done

Thanks all

That looks like more than 2x the food.

Tip for the next trip away. Get a 7 day medicine pill box and put food in before you go to be fed daily. No chance of overfeeding and no chance of 2 people doubling up.

Great idea.(y)(y) I've done the same only with baggies. I want to control how much food goes into the tank when I'm not the one feeding it. (y)
In the hatchery, with different fish needing different foods, I even taped the baggies to the tanks so there could be no mistakes. You want to take as much guess work out of the equation as you can. :)

Just two days? Fish will be fine if not fed for just two days.

What I used to do if I had to leave for a couple of days is I just over fed them slightly before I left and made sure the filter was running properly. The fish were always fine.
