Help with a Fresh Start on 155 gal

My 155 gal tank use to be set up as a reef tank and it has been down for the last two years with the rock and sand still in the water, i refill it every 4 or 5 months but never added any salt for six years. I still have one hang on Aqua Clear 500 power filter, my heater, a skimmer, a inline UV sterilizer and my lighting.

Just have couple questions to get me started.

can i use my rock and sand that i have already or do i need to purchase the colored rocks?

is the skimmer and uv sterilizer still needed for fresh water setup?

And I need advice on a good setup?

Not sure about most of that but I do know that you won't need the uv and the skimmer in a freshwater.
