I'm starting to see some algea in my tank brown mostly. To treat it im running the lights on low for two hours and four on high never more than six hours. Im also dosing Excel started with two caps now im dosing four a day. The algae still there so im asking can I raise the dose? Flourish im just using it once a week, can I dose more?

Here's some pics of how many plants I got in my tank, hoping someone with more knowledge can recommend me the right dose. If possible

Firstly.. what lights are you running over your tank? That will determine what the next course of action is. Excel however can be safely dosed at up to 1ml / g. The flourish fert isn't very useful when the tank is higher that a low light level as there just isn't enough nutrients in it for plants. You might have to look into dry ferts.

I got a Beamswork led and two Evo led 36" is about 2 watts per gallon, the Evo are much brighter than the Beamswork.

You are going to have to start by raising Glut to 1ml to every 2g of water. After a few weeks you might need to dose at a 1:1 ratio. BUT as Mebbid said you have to use a good doing plan of either El or PPS-Pro dosing dry ferts. The more light, the more CO2 or liquid carbon, the more ferts plants need.

As for dry fert this $15 package is all you need and will last a couple years... http://greenleafaquariums.com/aquarium-fertilizers-supplements/micro-macro-fertilizers.html.

You need 3 dosing bottles found at the bottom of this page... http://greenleafaquariums.com/aquarium-fertilizer.html.

This is a good thread about dosing PPS-Pro. Only read the opening post not all the comments after it.... http://www.aquaticplantcentral.com/forumapc/pps-analysis-feedback/39491-newbie-guide-pps-pro.html.

There are two things I do different from the article. First I use 3 dosing bottles as I split the macro nutrients for better custom dosing to the needs of the tank. Nitrates in one bottle, phosphates and potassium in one bottle, and micro's in the 3rd bottle. The other thing you'll notice the recipe calls for using MgSO4, magnesium sulfate, which you don't need if you if you have a gh of 4 or higher.

Meant to add IMO you should stop using one of your lights right now until you get everything you need in order.

Ok I will give this a try. But what should i do now? Dose a bit more?

I wouldn't dose too much more because you just keep increasing photosynthesis which means plants need more nutrients (ferts) which they aren't getting.

I always thought the Flourish was for that. I'll just keep on dosing as I was until the dry ferts get here.
Thx.

Flourish is basically just micro's and isn't enough for what plants in higher light tanks using carbon need.

Ok will try spot treatment and keep the lights for 6 hours.
