I am new to the whole planted tank thing amd about a week after I got my plants I started noticing these cotton ball looking things floating everywhere and on stuff. Can anyone tell me what it is and if its bad or not.

No they don't have driftwood in yet...but very soon I think

might be fungus growing on extra food left in the tank. check to see if there is anything inside the cotton ball. Also, just siphon them out.

I can't get a clear picture but it does look a little darker in the center of it. I just need to siphon them out?

It doesn't seem to be affecting either the fish or plants so that's good news.
