I just tested my water again today and well I'm not happy with my readings today
Ph 5.5
Ammonia 0
Nitrate 50
Nitrite .8

It's a 10 gallon tank. Been running a few months now. I have 2 swordtails, 3 neon tetras, 3 hi fin platys, a fire belly newt, and a adf. Up till yesterday when I started testing my own water everything was good. Yesterday I did a 20% water change then a 50% and then I had to do a 80% to get my nitrates and nitrites in order I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Someone please help. Thanks

What are your parameters just before a water change?

(oops, you already provided this info)

I agree that your tank is overstocked. To keep the water quality, you will need to change your tank water 50% or or more daily until you rehome your fish.

I now have a 30 gallon tank for all these fish plus 3 bettas

If your bettas are in the 30G they will kill each other eventually.
