I'm posting on behalf of my brother. Overnight, four of his fish died out of the blue. He said the water levels were normal and they weren't over fed. Any clue what happened?

what size tank?

what are the other inhabitants?
any changes to the tank? IE water changes, new fish, change in chemicals, new ferts, etc
