I have 2 issues and being a recently new aquarium owner I just dont know what to think.

1. My red tail shark loses its color frequently. It has gone from jet black to grey several times. It seems to be growing just fine and is very active.

2. I have a male guppy whos tail seems to point downwards. It looks really funny but he is also very active and always swimming around.

If anyone has any advice it would be much appreciated. I will attach photos of both fish.

Hello, if tank recently set it is probably water issues. If you have a testing kit check water parameters. Should be 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites & 5-40 nitrates. I personally believe a testing kit is very important. There are strips that are cheaper(not dependable) or Api liquid about 35$ at store or 15$+ online. I also notice that you have a golden dojo(weather) loach it is recommended to be kept at temp 52°-72°. Sharks are very territorial known to harass & attack smaller & timid fish(loach is very docile). They will inhabit same areas of tank. Hope this helps!
