hermit killer?

well I found a dead hermit today...it was pretty well mangled (it was still like "clinging" to the rock, with no shell) ??? I dont think it was the other hermits as I have other shells in their for them..the only other things I have are 1. tomato clown and 1. pajama cardinal and 2 astri snails (and now 3 hermits )

are you sure ?? same thing JUST happened to me, i saw his legs all messed up, and there was white stuff coming from the inside. Turns out he had molted!! Keep track of you empty shells and make sure you count them. They get shy for a couple of days after they molt!

Sounds like a molt they usually go into hiding to allow the exoskeleton to harden

My hermit did the same thing. Looked like he fell out of the shell and died. Then, saw the shell start moving again!!! Was soo happy.
