I'm Ashley from Canada (Ontario). I've owned fish on & off my entire life. Usually guppies & other livebearers.

I currently have a 45 gal outdoor "tank" - what is really a heavy plastic rectangular planter - as a test to see what's needed for outdoor setups. In it there are 10 water hyacinth/plants, far too many pond snails to count (they reproduce like crazy), 3 guppies, 2 blue gouramis, 1 betta & about 30 3 day old guppy fry. All store bought. No filter, no air stone, no heater. Just routine water changes/top ups & every week about 50-75% water change. None of the fry have gone missing yet & they're growing surprisingly well.

Hi I'm also from Ontario. You may want to add a heater for the betta because it's getting colder at night already.
