Aquarium Advice Newbie
Hi all,
Been on the interwebs since before there was a WWW, playing on and off with aquariums for a couple decades (mostly off). Started a family later on (no regrets there!) and having been many years away from aquariums, found myself with a young daughter and looking for ways to stimulate her.
So, fish were not it.
But I renewed my own interest and forged ahead with a modest 20 gallon. I've always had planted community-type tanks, I guess I'm fascinated with the whole ecosystem idea so running a deep bed, Oil-dri substrate with a plenum for anoxic denitrification, which seems to be working out, mostly.
I've been a member of many fora over the years and I appreciate what goes into them and support when I can. I found it refreshingly easy to upgrade my membership when registering so went ahead with it. US$15/yr isn't going to break anyone who's into this hobby.
