Hidin places for dwarf cichlid

I everyone i was just wondering if anybody could elp me think of what type of hiding spots caves ect rams like to hide in most as my bolivian and electric blues are allways near the front o the glass which i dont know why is this normal?

I have a big fake rock cave in my tank as well as other caves and crevices I've made with real rock and my bolivian rams always hang out at the front glass during the day. When they sleep there will usually be one that went in the cave then the others just kind of space themselves out equally.
