Hi I found a 18 in t8 15 w light fixture for my 3 gallon fuge and wondering if it would help grow cheto

It's the color temperature your looking for. I've used a standard fluoresce bulb at 3,000k but something in the 6,500k range should work.

Thxs I might keep this and buy a more stronger bulb now or go for the perch light fixture

6500k is not stronger it just has a different light spectrum to it, its closer to the color of the suns light which is perfect for growing chaeto

well it might be slightly different in terms of PAR but thats not what you're going for, you're lookign for a full spectrum bulb that the chaeto, or other micro algaes will use to grow
