Holding German Red Peacock

I have a trio of German Reds and on the 29th I caught two of them breeding and watched the process. This morning I realized that when she opened her mouth just a tad bit like she normally did she didn't have the eggs in her mouth and when I just fed she was eating. I was super excited as they are juveniles and this was there first batch and the first time I had bred mouthbrooders. Is it common on the first try for them to eat the eggs?? Could she have been over stressed and ate them??

first time breeders in any mouth-brooding cichlids usually eat them, better luck for future though.
