If fish food (flakes, pellets, and freeze dried) is sealed well, how long can it last?

Thanks.

You know, I have no idea myself, I'm kinda curious about that too. I don't know if fish food gets stale/loses nutrition to fish, but I've used flake food that's like a year or two old, and supplemented with other things, like some tubefix worms every once in a while, seem to keep my fish going fine. I guess it would depend on what kind of food you're dealing with.

I've thrown out some flake when it was prolly 2 years old or so, and had mostly crumbled to powder. I know I've kept lots more way past the expiration dates on the container, fish still eat it and are doing fine, so I don't worry about it.

I sometimes feed mine the 15 year old Tetra Flake my parents gave me, and it seems to work fine. It was all I fed my fish for awhile and they were doing great, but then I got paranoid and bought new stuff anyway.
