K i am getting kinda frustrated...
I am converting / acclimating a fw tank to brackish. I got the marine salt that i need and how much to add etc....
I do a 1-2 gal water change at a time...
b4 I put the new treated water in it pegs my hydrometer...but when I add it to the tank, wait for 30 min, then take a tank reading, the salt isn't even showing up on the needle of the hydrometer. It's only a 10 gal tank...how long is it going to take to bring it up to where it needs to be?:(

It's not a fast process. What most people do, and what I'd consider to be the best bet, is do small water changes with the salinity that you're aiming for... then, over time, the salt will build up and you'll get that desired salinity. You also have to take in to consideration that acclimating a fish from fw to bw isn't something that can happen over night. It takes weeks sometimes to get them acclimated.
