If your fish is a female Fancy Guppy, then in good conditions, you can have fry in about 28 days. The females you get from the local pet store are pregnant, so keep the tank water very clean, by changing half of it every week and you'll have fry very shortly.

Your Fancy Guppy

Hello again Mr...

I've heard the Fancy Guppy farms raise the males and females together, so the females from the pet store are already pregnant. If you're interested in keeping Guppies, then you won't need to buy males. The female you have, depending on her age and general health, will produce from 10 to 60 fry.

I hope you have room in your tank or someone who'll take the fry off your hands. I started with six female Guppies several years ago and now have 7 large tanks full of them.

Above everything else, change half the water in the tank every week!
