Have a 10 gallon fry tank. My question is how many fry can safely grow out in a 10 gallon and for how long?

Just had a batch of Kenyi fry and another batch of red zebras.

All of them
Professional breeders grow out a few hundred fry in that size tank
Just do lots of WCs and don't overfeed

Wow! That many in a 10 gallon? And they will be fine until they are big enough to rehome into a main tank with adults as long as I keep up with water changes?

Will a sponge filter provide a home to the bacteria to breakdown the ammonia etc?

Lots and lots of water changes yes, like 50 per day or more
They should be good until about 1 inch long I think
