So I'm going to switch from gravel to pfs how much do I need for a 55 gallon

How deep do I want to go with live plants and on the calculator do I pick the last substrate sicila sand I think it is

Yeah, but I'm not too sure how accurate that calcuator is with PFS. For a 55g, a whole bag and part of another will get you enough. You'll just kinda have to feel around for it though. I'd say 2" will be plenty. One bag, IIRC, will do about an inch or inch and a half. So, you'll have some extra from the second bag.

I don't think that calculator is accurate for silica sand. I have a 28g bowfront that measures 24" wide and 12" deep at the narrowest and 15" at the bow. 3" thick sand calculates at 62 pounds. I used maybe 60% to 70% of a 50 pound bag.

The sand the calculator is talking about is more like playsand. A really fine grained sand. PFS is a much larger grain, similar to gravel, IMO.
