I've got a ten gallon on a sturdy metal stand, and there is some space under the stand. I was wondering if it could support a 5 gallon. I know for sure that it can support a 2.5 gallon tank, but nothing can really go in 2.5 gallons, or at least nothing should. It has always been a shrimp tank and I think it'll stay that way. But I need to know if the space under the stand will support 50 lbs or whatever 5 gallons is. I've attached some pictures. It's as big as a ten gallons footprint. Hopefully you guys have an answer.

I would just cut out a 1/2" piece of plywood, sand and paint it black and you'd be good to go. Just make sure it fits snug inside all four corners.

That's a great idea. Thanks! That sound like it'll hold up nicely. Thanks for the helpful reply!
