How to plug a hole in tank?

Hello there

I am setting up my 120 gallon and I need your expertise advice. I will not be doing a sump so I need to plug the hole that was there before. I bought a fitting and it screws on perfectly but no matter how tight I turn it there is still some leakage when the water gets to that level. Any suggestion would help. Can i glue the fitting in? What glue is safe? Any other way to plug a hole? Glass? Etc.. I am all ears!!

You could seal it sure, but I wouldn't trust it at all with the pressure 120g of water is going to put on it,

Either that or i keep in the long tube that came with the tank ( the one that worked with the sump.... basically for overflow..)

The cap glued and siliconed on should work...but once again another one of these bottom drilled tanks. I simply don't understand how this is viewed as a good idea ever.

Whats the glue / silicon recommended to use that is saltwater safe?

Any silicone that doesn't have any anti fungal is safe for use on our systems. If you are paranoid about it, you can get some from any fish store to be safe.
With glue, you want 100% cyanoacrylate. Anything else has additives that can leach into the water. I personally use loctite superglue gel.
