For now I am planning to get catfish and dinosaur eels. I'm not sure what else I'm going to get,but for now that is what I am focusing on.They might not get along well, but I am going to try.
Correct....stick with larger cats, like Synodontids....I have a personal story about one of my largest palmas polli bichirs snarfing up a school of decent-sized barbatus corys one night.
What species of bichir/dinosaur eel are you considering? The one most commonly sold as a 'dinosaur eel' is the plain brown Polypterus s. senegalus, which gets to about 12'-13", but I know that PetsMart has also been selling Polypterus ornatipinnis as 'ornate dinosaur eels', and these guys get to 24"-27" and quite hefty.
