I bet I can set up a 29 gallon with seeded media in less than 3 hours completely...
Here is my list:
29 gallon glass tank
200 watt Aqueon black heater
1 Aquaclear 70 filter, turned all the way down.
Black background
1 zoomed dual T5 high out put light fixture
1 color enhancing bulb
1 plant bulb
seachem black florite
29 gallons of treated water
Live plants
Live fish
And last but not least this new sweet piece of drift wood....

I wish I could do that. Whenever I start a build it always seems to take at least 2-3 times longer than I think it will and I usually end up having to go to my LFS once or twice. Good luck!

Tank is still clearing from adding the substrate yesterday... Aquascape and fish done check that off the list... 16 neon tetras...
6 corys...
Otociculus will be purchased in 2 weeks to allow algae growth for feeding...

Fluval 306

So I decided since I like the canister filter better and Fluval's dependability.. I took the AC70 off and added my Fluval 306 to this 29 gallon.. I had it laying around and said why am I doing a large hang on back filter when I have a more effective filter sitting in the closet.. So I set it up with the media from the AC70 and some from my 55 gallon.. This is called seeding beneficial bacteria.. Using about 50 percent older and developed media in the bottom and middle of the filter baskets. they are stacked on top of each other 3 baskets each basket has 2 compartments.. this should function well. I only use the sponges and bio media when I use these canisters.. even my 55 gallon only uses these two medias... less money perfectly efficient and no band aid to major water problems... some medias like ammonia clear and nitrate reducers only band aid the problem for a while then another spike happens in the form of a huge spike. good way to go spend more money and less time solving the direct problem... just some filter advice :)
