I use the biocube skimmer on my 14g Biocube, it's not to expensive and it works pretty well. I don't have any problem with micro bubbles or anything else.

I have a bio cube 29 gallon also this is the skimmer I have had 4 years and it works great still it was a tuff fit in the back slot tho and I modified it a bitImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1397053266.218166.jpg

I also bought the skimmer for the cube originally it fits well but never worked well. It uses a air stone which needs replaced at times here's another pic of the aquatic lifeImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1397053488.993202.jpg

I heard a protein skimmer is not needed in a tank our size. I'm 12 days into the hobby so please take it as hearsay
