Brand new to fish, I bought the "quick start" stuff but then started doing some internet "fishing" and found this site, along with Eco's start up guide and went and bought me some ammonia to start a fishless cycle!
Printed the whole thing off and played by the numbers. Oh, about day 21, I was totally ready to give up and just dump in the "quick start" stuff.
Day 22, checked the water, and there was no ammonia. WTHeck?
Dosed it back up to 4ppm and checked in 24 hours. None. Wow. It worked. Crazy!
So I just did my pwc, nitrAtes are just under 20, and I'm going fish shopping this weekend!!
