Unless you keep the QT up and running, yes. I've just been keeping mine lately. I should clarify that I have an Aquaclear mini filter with 3 of the sponge inserts in it and a powerhead for circulation.

How long did your 75 gallon take to cycle? I know different tanks take different lengths to cycle, but I just want to get an estimate on the time it will take.

3-4 weeks is typical if your using live rock and sand. Seeding material may speed things up.
