Root tabs are needed for root feeding plants such as Swords and crypts.

Great filters. I have two C3's on my 38 gallon tank and a C4 on my 29 gallon tank. Canister quality water with the convenience of an HOB.

Try Amazon.com or Drs Foster & Smith on line for a price far less than the "big box" stores.
