Ick

I have a small 5 gallon that I keep with 5 neon tetras, and 2 red plattys. I woke up this morning and saw that they had ick, and 1 was already dead. I put a tablet to kill off the Ick but 2 other tetras were died in the process. What should I do? I also removed the carbon from my filter.

If you have a heater in the tank raise the temp to 86 degrees and keep it there for a week after the last spot is gone

I do have a heater. Unfortunately it's not adjustable. I ended up losing all of my tetras.

Like Kat said you have to raise the temp between 86 and 88 so get yourself an adjustable heater.
