I have a 30" fluorescent aquarium strip. 120volt, 20watt, 60hz ... Got a 17w bulb in it... Don't know what this means or what it limits me to...

I only bought a single pack. I do know that if you take the unsprouted bulbs and send them to the company listed on the package, they will send you replacement packs with fresh bulbs.
